Inspired by his wife’s painting, Martin Howard has created his latest piece, “Selene.” Martin is an English guitarist with a strong foundation in classical training, shaping his disciplined yet expressive playing style. Over the years, he has expanded his musical language into folk, blues, and rock, across both electric and acoustic formats. He is known for creating unique pieces that do not follow a set pattern. Over the years, he has collaborated with artists like Mark Johnson of the Kent-based band The Midnight River Crew.

"Martin Lloyd Howard fills the silence of the moon with his melodic guitar solo in “Selene.”
His latest original solo classical guitar piece is composed in G minor, a relatively uncommon key for the instrument. Inspired by a moonscape painting by his wife, Martin gives this composition a deeply personal visual origin. The piece evokes pale moonlight, drifting clouds, and nocturnal stillness through subtle tones. Martin balances classical structure with modern, contemplative pacing, avoiding dramatic flourishes, and instead relying on mood, restraint, and emotional nuance.
