Powers of the Monk has released their latest track “Sleepy Fields.” POTM reformed in 2020 and emerged from the creative triangle of Pontiac, Detroit, and Ann Arbor, Michigan, carrying a deeply introspective and genre-fluid sonic identity. The duo consists of David S. Monk, who handles vocals, guitars, and keyboards, and CasSondra “Pontiac” Powers, whose contributions span vocals, violin, bass, and keyboards, creating a richly layered musical dialogue. Their collaborative approach blurs traditional band roles, allowing texture and mood to take precedence over rigid structure.

"A hushed, dream-soaked moment where Powers of the Monk turn rest into revelation."

“Sleepy Fields" unfolds like a liminal space, dissolving the boundary between wakefulness and dreams through gentle pacing and atmospheric detail. The track leans into restraint, allowing each breath, tone, and pause to feel intentional and weightless. Dreamlike imagery, softened heartbeats, and luminous calm translate into a soothing, immersive listening experience. It stands as a quiet yet confident statement of POTM’s artistic philosophy, where calm becomes the most powerful emotion conveyed.
