Olivier Laurent is back with a set of fresh tracks in the form of an illustrative album. The Amityville-based artist has woven together a set of songs to produce a unique concept album. Originally from New York, Olivier began his journey with music at the age of 21. He always wanted to create an impact with his storytelling and music, and he does it exceptionally well through the medium of hip-hop. His cutting-edge lyricism and composed delivery make him a powerful voice to be heard. His previous releases Love & Basketball, Lavi Bon, and the refined Lavi Bon:VIP, share an introspective approach. With this intent, he aspires to perform at the Apollo and reach 100 true fans at a time, creating a lasting impact on them.

The soulful narrative of a child’s life even before they are born in this beautiful world, captures hearts in Olivier Laurent’s “Solin Anj.”

His recent album is inspired by his very own children’s book Solin Anj. It is a tender and poetic story narrated by a baby still in the womb. The album is divided into two parts and has nine songs that narrate the journey of a child right from their mother’s womb to the outer world in the most sonically captivating way. Tracks like “Out of Spite,” “I Like It,” “Wakanda,” “Sold Out,” “If You Ask Me” display the lifecycle of a new life that is about to see the world as raw as it is.

Through this unique lens, the album captures the vulnerable and complex moments that come with becoming a parent, filled with fear, hope, love, and transformation. Both the parents and the child must be prepared to face the world that has good and bad, highs and lows, and ups and down, but in the end, it's a beautiful chapter of life. With his signature laid-back vocal delivery and strong verses, Olivier creates a relatable yet resonant album that stands apart from the rest of the collections.
