Midsummer Ex has released his first single for the year. Midsummer Ex is a Stockholm-based artist crafting emotionally restrained, Scandinavian-leaning synthwave. He is a solo songwriter and producer, aiming to shape a deeply personal sonic identity. Known for prioritizing mood, vulnerability, and atmosphere over genre rigidity, the artist draws influences from Pet Shop Boys, Robyn, Kent, and The Midnight. He has also collaborated with Maxthor’s Luis M Deltell for a polished yet intimate final mix and master.

“Midsummer Ex blends electronic nostalgia with organic textures to create understated emotional depth.”

“Television” is his recently released melancholic synthwave single exploring emotional drift in relationships. He uses television as a metaphor for shared space and emotional disconnection. The track features nostalgic synth layers paired with expressive vocals and guitar work. A haunting saxophone adds warmth and loneliness to the arrangements, while incorporating Japanese spoken fragments that enhance the theme of memory and detachment. The track stands out for its quiet honesty and refusal to dramatize emotional distance.
