I love music that connects right to your soul, and that’s the reason JCCutter’s rhythms hit the right emotions. He writes music with a simple intention: to express rather than impress. After years of life responsibilities and global experience, he finally returns to songwriting, and has been delivering some of the most beautiful tracks. “Vegas Days” captures the thrill, spectacle, and larger-than-life energy of places and moments that feel cinematic. Musically, the project leans into country rock textures, where electric guitars, steady percussion, and anthemic arrangements drive the sound. From the very first beat you know that this song is perfect for clubs, parties, and casual listening. Overall, “Vegas Days” blends storytelling and spirited country rock to create a song that feels both fun and vividly atmospheric.

“JCCutter turns life experiences and long-held emotions into heartfelt country rock storytelling that speaks straight from the soul.”

We also got a chance to have a candid conversation with JCCutter. Dive in to some exciting insights.

1 - You often say you write music to express rather than impress. How does that philosophy shape your songwriting?

JCCutter: It makes it more enjoyable. You have the opportunity to tell a story, express emotions, or simply to allow what is happening around you to be express in sound and feeling. The music basically creates a visual for you that you hope comes across to those who hear it.

2 - You spent years traveling and focusing on responsibilities before returning to music. How did those experiences influence your songs?

JCCutter: They gave me a canvas and many brushes and colors to work from. Memories to me are just chords waiting to express themselves. When you think of something that you saw, that you did, that you heard, or that you experienced, there is a feeling attached, an emotion. To me, that has vision and a sound. I try to express those.

3 - What was the moment when you finally decided it was time to share your music with the world?

JCCUTTER: Really, there were two moments. Both demonstrated the worry and the concern of those around me. The first was seeing those impacted by the last three US Government Shutdowns or “Funding Lapses”. Seeing others suddenly lose certainty in their lives, worrying about how they will get to a job that wouldn’t necessarily be paying them for their time, was simply unfair. That made me want to express what they were feeling, and how that made me feel with “Shutdown Pawns”. Before that was the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami in Japan that led to the powerplant meltdown. Seeing how those around them gathered together, helped one another together, and simply survived was something amazing. That experience and my family created “We Live Through it All”.

4 - What inspired you to capture the energy and illusion of Las Vegas in “Vegas Days”?

JCCutter: Last year, I spent a weekend in Vegas. The lights, the bombardment of sounds and things to do, was staggering. We took an Uber and there were disco lights in it! While there, I met a guy from the rodeo at a Texas Hold’em table. We got to talking as we played. It was obvious he was smitten by the dealer. Whenever she would look his way, you could see the slight grin on his face. That got me thinking about the interconnection of the Rodeo, the Chance at the tables, and the humanity of it all. So, that night I started writing until Vegas Days was born.

5 - How did you arrive at the lively country rock sound of the track?

JCCutter: I would say I was trying to recreate the constant forward motion of all the sounds that simply attack you at the casino, the sights that hit you at the rodeo, and simply what I imagine a night would be like for a cowboy in the casino. The drive to beat the odds, the drive to be a part of it all—that’s what was driving a forward motion into the excitement.

6 - When writing a song like this, do you start with the story or the music first?

JCCutter: The story. I am a lyricist first. I’m all about the story behind the story and how that feels. The music, the keys, the chords all flavor the story.

7 - What part of the Vegas experience did you most want listeners to feel through the song?

JCCutter: Most certainly the chance of it all. The gamble, and how it all interconnects in the experience to create the fun—even when you lose.

8 - When you begin writing a song, what usually sparks the first idea?

JCCutter: That’s hard to say. For sure, something just clicks, a feeling, a sight, just something like you described, a “Spark” that creates a story that needs to be heard. Every time, it has been something big or small—it really doesn’t matter. I see it or hear it and I think to myself, that has color, that has depth, that needs a sound to share the gravity or the emotion.

9 - Are you currently working on new music or upcoming releases?

JCCutter: I’m slowly drafting, writing, experimenting, and trying—the hard part is time. So, I would say I’m currently working on time. My hope is that I will be able to share more, that our listeners, your readers, and others will hear the stories and want to hear them again so that we can continue to share our “sparks”.

10 - What feeling do you hope listeners take away after hearing “Vegas Days”?

JCCutter: Just to have fun! Enjoy the moment because that is what we have—moments to experience, to help, to share, to feel, to risk, and moments to try. You never know what those moments will bring until you take your chance, so, enjoy the track below and have a great time ahead:
