FORRM Transports You Into an Immersive World with ‘Palazzo’
FORRM was formed in Paris in 2024. It is an experimental alternative rock band founded by filmmaker Firouz FarmanFarmaian. FORRM is here to set a precedent with its music: to merge the worlds of music, contemporary art, film, and site-specific performance. To capture this, the band places an emphasis on live performance and independent radio. With a background in psychedelic filmmaking, Firouz captures that sentiment in the sound and language of the band.

“‘Palazzo’ captures the raw feeling of immersive live music. There is no replica. You just have to witness it.”
The single ‘Palazzo’ was released on 4 July 2026. It is largely inspired by Palazzo Dandolo, a Gothic palace in Venice. The song actively creates and draws from a physical space while building a visual and audio universe of its own. The build-up is pure; there is no tension. It takes its time, capturing the sense of zen and admiration that comes with watching, admiring, and learning from contemporary art and music. You reclaim the true essence of experiential rock and feel transported. The pace of the single is almost sexy; it teases you. The band’s use of a nomadic ensemble and atmospheric rock captures the space and performance in a cinematic sense. Think of an underground rave. There is a sense of sexiness and cinema to it. ‘Palazzo’ enthrals you, then transports you into an alternate, escapist reality. If you enjoy songs that make you close your eyes and transport you into an alternate artistic reality, ‘Palazzo’ is worth a listen.
