An indie and psych rock project that originates from Houston, Texas, The Shrubs started out as a passion project in 2013, and have witnessed a long journey of highs and lows in their music. From being a multi-member group in the past with several members as passers by to now being a magnetic duo of Miguel and Sophie, their creative maestro was recognized by Blossom Records in 2019. As a curiosity-driven group whose music feels genuinely immersive because of how organic it sounds, this particular release sheds light on the simplicity that existed before the tech world we know today. As a track that got into motion in the spring of last year, this is entirely made on analogue, and that tape degradation feels like its real strength.

The Shrubs
The Shrubs
An intergalactic experience of falling in love with life as it comes, this is a reminder to go with the flow.

Dreamy, nostalgic and timeless, these are a few words that come to my mind as I first listened to 'Let Us In'. The Shrubs have really infused a lot of different metronomes together in this one, and all of them melt together so vividly and beautifully that the outcome is a nuanced trip down to the sweet memories about something that linger in your head for a while, living there rent-free. Fusing elements of classic indie rock with a hypnotic drum experience that makes the track even more ethereal as you progress into it, this track is truly a dreamy masterpiece.
