Singer-songwriter Patrick Costello has released a tribute song titled “You Can't Ask the Wind Not to Blow.” This track is a ballad of love for someone who is no longer in his life. To bring the ode to life, he invited his wife’s favorite dobro maestro Mike Witcher and his band. Chad Manning on fiddle, Mark Schatz on acoustic bass, Jesse Appleman on Mandolin, Tom Finch on the guitar, and Ari Rios on co-production, bring the magic of Patrick Costello alive.

“You Can't Ask the Wind Not to Blow” feels like holding grief in your hands and the pain of lost love in the heart.
This song is deeply personal to Patrick as it is dedicated to someone very close to him. He wrote it in loving memory of his wife, who passed away recently due to cancer. With a heavy ache in his heart, Patrick carefully weaves words of sorrow with melodies that feel like a parting note. He recalls that his wife, Erica Ziegler, loved bluegrass music and had a beautiful harmony-singing voice, so he wanted to dedicate this song for her. After listening to the track, you will feel as if you are holding Costello’s grief in your hands and the memories of their love in your heart.
