“Weight of the World” by Eddie Cohn Builds and Breaks You Gently

California-based artist Eddie Cohn has released yet another track that leans into his emotional, rock-driven space. His journey, starting from playing piano at just 3 years old to learning guitar and drums on his own, shows how well-seasoned he is. There’s a strong pull from that 90s rock space in his sound, not just in the guitar but in that slightly raw, unfiltered emotional honesty. What I like is how he doesn’t stay limited to just music; whether it’s DJing, writing, or even teaching yoga, it all feels like part of the same creative flow.

“Eddie Cohn keeps it raw, real, and rooted in honest rock emotion.”

“Weight of the World” starts off smooth and almost restrained, easing you into its space before it begins to open up. As it progresses, that fuzzy, grunge-like rock texture slowly takes over. There’s something really unique about this track that makes it stand out. The music keeps rising while the vocals slowly let go, almost like the emotion is fading even as the sound continues to grow. There’s a strong balance between the instrumentation and vocals, both moving together without one overpowering the other. By the end, the track feels loud and full, but emotionally it feels emptied out, like everything’s already been said.
