The Aotearoa/New Zealand-based producer, DJ, and sound engineer has dropped a banger. She became fascinated with the world of music when she first heard jazz at the Cause Célèbre club in Auckland. After that, she moved to London and studied sound engineering under iconic figures from Gong and Spiral Tribe. She crafts catchy jazz, house, electro, and post-rock sounds and has worked with a diverse range of artists including Bark Psychosis, John Sinclair, Maxi Jazz, Substax, and members of Alabama 3. Along with her releases, she mentors artists, promotes club nights, and works with UKG MCs.

A groovy track that portrays the power of femme-to-femme admiration on the dancefloor.

“Powersuit” blends electro-pop and bass house with electroclash grit and post rock undertones. The track is built around a stripped-back beat, deadpan vocals, and hypnotic groove that channels early 2000s club culture. Along with its groovy vibe, it celebrates feminine strength, confidence, and femme-to-femme admiration on the dancefloor. Sonically reminiscent of Miss Kittin and Uffie, but written and produced by Rachel in her self-built studio, the track serves as the first taste of upcoming releases from Mama’s Crib Records and her new imprint Slice of Nice.
