Powers of the Monk Confronts Dark Realities in “Bread & Circuses”

Powers of the Monk is on a spree of releasing back-to-back music. Keeping up with the same pace, they unveiled their latest original “Bread & Circuses.” The band consisting of David Monk and CasSondra Powers are based out of Michigan, USA. They are known for creating music that carries an essence in it. Collaborating with producers like Dani Macchi, the founding member of the Italian band Belladonna, they have produced tracks like “Firefly” and "Switchin' Rails" in the past.

Powers of the Monk blurs the line between delusion and reality in their latest track.

Their latest single, “Bread & Circuses,” discusses a very critical issue through musicality. It narrates the story of a schizophrenic patient with delusions of breaking out of the mental facility, visiting the circus, and seeing the lions eat the clowns. Led by David S. Monk on vocals, guitar, and keyboards, and CasSondra ‘Pontiac’ Powers on violin and vocals, with guest drummer John O’Reilly Jr. adding rhythmic force to the track, the band delivers an unorthodox yet intensely powerful message.
