A collective of talented artists from Seattle is back with an album that weaves a meaningful journey. We are talking about La Need Machine’s recent 10-song concept album, “Pourquoi? C'est L'Amour!” The beautiful composition of songs, mainly in the indie rock genre features some amazing singers, songwriters, and music composers. Al Dams, Elise Dahlberg, Brian Hassler, Dawn Madsen, and Sebastian lend their voices on lead vocals and Bear Davis handles production, together drafting a message of hope and upliftment in every verse. In other words, “Pourquoi? C’est L’Amour!” is not a rock opera or a concept album, but a collection of songs that fit together like a set of baseball cards.

“Pourquoi? C'est L'Amour!” serves a meaningful amalgamation of songs in a musical disc.

The 10-song album captures the main pillars of life—love, loss, friendship and self-discovery in a beautiful and meaningful way. The opening song “Our Song” is about celebrating friendship and capturing the essence of youth culture. “I Wish I Could Fly” talks about an important issue of environmental concern from a bird's point of view, while “The Mountain” explores the philosophy of give and take in a relationship. If you are looking to romanticize love with a melodic ballad, “Maria” will delight your ears.

“These Old Jeans” will take you back to your childhood days and remind you of the nostalgic melodies while giving you the reality check of growing up. "Sardonic Love" presents a more cynical take on romance, and "Vincent Van Gogh" compares the purposeful paintings of the artist with the mundane routines of life. Finally, "The Hometown Heroes" talks about mutual dependence and helping out others in tough times and “Over The Rainbow” makes you feel at an opera with a chorus that echoes in your ears forever. La Need Machine has worked their magic with meaningful topics and instances of life in this album. Go give it all the love it deserves.
