Multitalented artist DJThriller, aka Joshua Hurst, has released his album, “MODERN CHAOS.” He is a rapper, producer, and artist promoter known for creating DIY tracks. Hailing from Ladera Heights, California, the artist is known for merging old-school lyricism with contemporary jazz and alternative hip-hop elements. His tracks aim at spreading mental awareness with a message of childhood love, hope, and self-care. He seeks to revive the authentic storytelling vibe of early 2010s hip-hop while pushing a modern, genre-bending direction. Currently, he is a documentary production major at California State University, Northridge (CSUN).

An honest portrayal of breakdowns, growth, and grind—“MODERN CHAOS” stands out as an authentic hip-hop album.
“MODERN CHAOS” is all about the truth of life. Rather than chasing trends, Joshua aims to spread a message through this album. Consisting of twelve tracks, opening with "Birmingham," which talks about resilience and identity, the collection is a personal life portrayal of DJThriller. “No Time to Die” speaks to urgency, survival, and facing the harsh realities of life. It blends raw emotions with crisp lyricism. “Not Ready” is a reflective and introspective track about hesitation and self-doubt.
Where “Philosophy” portrays real-life struggles, sleepless nights, financial stress, and heartbreak, “Down a Broken Record” addresses a cycle of pain and repetition. “Our Minds in Zytopia” dives into mental and emotional chaos with themes like overthinking and anxiety. “Blade Runner” offers modern vibes with gritty undertones, with a sharp commentary. “Locked N Loaded” is high on energy, a defiant anthem showcasing DJThriller’s confidence and readiness to face adversity. “JK BITCH” is the closing track with a raw, and unapologetic tone. Overall, “MODERN CHAOS” is a bold fusion of jazz-infused hip-hop and authentic storytelling.
