In celebration of their 20th anniversary, American rock band Mayday Parade keeps the momentum going with the release of their new single “One Day At A Time.” The track is the second preview from their highly anticipated album Sad, set to drop on October 3, 2025. This release marks the second part of an introspective three-part album project commemorating their two decades in music.
Guitarist Brooks Betts describes the single as a vivid reflection on growth and self-forgiveness. “It’s a song about growing through life and getting better as you go, correcting past mistakes, and understanding that life changes and evolves,” he said. This emotive piece balances the raw vulnerability and hopeful resilience that fans have come to love from Mayday Parade.
Musically, “One Day At A Time” unites atmospheric layers with the band’s signature soaring melodies, carrying the emotional honesty synonymous with their sound. The new song follows the earlier single “Under My Sweater,” which harkened back to early 2000s emo with nostalgic pop-punk vibes, showing the band’s ability to blend classic influences with contemporary sounds.
Sad reunites the band with longtime collaborators Zack Odom and Kenneth Mount, promising a blend of introspection and anthemic hooks. As Mayday Parade embarks on their anniversary tour across Australia, the USA, the UK, and Europe, this single arrives as both a gift to longtime fans and an introduction for new listeners.
Stream “One Day At A Time” now, and pre-order Sad to experience the next chapter in Mayday Parade’s evolving musical journey.
