The New Citizen Kane returns with an album, and this time it's even better. The New Citizen Kane is a project led by Kane Luke, who is creating his own universe in this musical world. His story is quite interesting, as he returned in 2023 after a decade-long hiatus. Since then, he has been creating bangers that are here to stay. His music is a blend of emotions, nightlife energy, storytelling, and visual imagination, all of which come together in a way that feels very natural. Everything on paper and in reality, comes so effortlessly because of his background in music production and sound engineering. I kike how he shuffles between different musical genres to stay out of the box and create something unique every time.

“The New Citizen Kane makes music like a late-night film scene dressed in neon and emotion.”
“LIQUID.LATEX.DISCO.DADDY.” feels like walking into a neon-lit late-night club where every room has a different groove waiting. The album pulls heavily from 90s house music, but it doesn’t feel like an imitation. It feels more like taking that era’s spirit and giving it a darker, sleeker, modern twist. The beats are smooth, stylish, and instantly catchy. There’s a tactile quality to the production, where the basslines pulse through you, and the synth textures wrap around the room like smoke. What works really well is how each track begins a fresh rhythm while keeping the larger energy connection. Even with 16 tracks, it rarely feels repetitive. There’s a tactile quality to the production, where the basslines pulse through you, and the synth textures wrap around the room like smoke.
The tracks are bouncy, playful, and sharp, with a hint of twist in every drop you listen to. Each listen feels like you are entering a different arena to experience a saga unfolding. While some songs are groovy, some also instil a sense of emotional connection, and that’s what makes this collection complete. Musically, this album knows how to stay shaky without becoming predictable, and lyrically, it feels cheeky, confident, flirtatious, and self-aware. There’s humor here, attitude here, and enough personality to make the project memorable. It feels like music for nights out, solo drives, workouts, and those moments when you just need a mood lift. With its release on April 24, this is definitely one worth pre-saving before it drops. I am sure once you listen to it, one play will not feel enough.
