Kelsie Kimberlin’s “Lady Liberty” Captures a Freedom That Doesn’t Feel the Same

Kelsie Kimberlin is once again back with a track that leaves behind a lasting impact. Kelsie genuinely comes across as an artist who doesn’t just make music for the sake of it, there’s always something she’s trying to say. Her background in choirs and early studio exposure really shows in how controlled and natural her vocals feel. There’s a clear intention to talk about real-world issues, and “Lady Liberty” also focuses on one.

“Kelsie Kimberlin never fails to create a moment of reflection through her impactful music.”

The song is rooted in the idea of the American dreams slowly fading, especially around immigration, freedom, and what “Lady Liberty” stands for today. If you look at the music video, the imagery of “Lady Liberty” wearing a tarnished gown says a lot about the idea. Her vocals do most of the emotional work, steady and restrained in a way that makes the message louder and stronger. The production stays minimal, with Brett Kimberlin’s guitars and Andy Hamburger’s drums sitting quietly in the background. Steve Sachse’s bass and Yuri Shepeta’s keys and strings add depth without taking attention away from the message.
