Sometimes music doesn't have to do a lot for it to move a neede. They don't have to sound coherent at all with whatever what reach out to the most in the moment, no matter the reason, yet they leave a tint of mesmerisation on our minds, and this roundup called 'Sonic Retreat' is literally about songs that make you escape the norm.

Sonic Retreat

For our first track, we have 'Let Me Stay' by Robert Larrabee, a special single released on 4th August 2025, blessing us from Medicine Hat, Canada.

'Let Me Stay' feels like a trip down memory lane, taking us back to the carefree and liberating energy of the 80s. A soft and surreal moment infused with serenity and holy bows, this instils a lot of positivity and hope. A soft moment of romantic yearning, this makes you feel one with the artist.

First on the list is “Do We Love Us” By Michellar, an ALTERNATIVE POP masterpiece. Released on 17 Apr 26, based out of the United States, San Francisco

A reflective moment full of depth and vulnerability, this is a work of art.

The next track is Alexis Lace's 'My Tell-Tale Heart', hailing from London, England, which was released on 8th May, 2026.

A dystopian tale about a love that never dies, 'Tell-Tale Heart' explores the endless yearning and nostalgia one feels, especially when they're trying to overcome a heartbreak. This is a unique revelation. Pulling hard strings on emotional attachment, this will make you think about a heartbreak even if you didn't go through one.

Second on the list is “Burn” By Solum, a DARK-POP piece that will get you moving for sure. Released on 22 Apr 26, based in England, London

Boom-clapping away all the ifs and buts, someone who pulls on your insecurities, this is reflective and emotion-driven.

For our third track, we have “Deep Jive” by RETroMETro, a dreamy symphony from London, England, which was released on 31st March 2026.

A fun electric fusion of synthesisers that makes you dissociate and escape the world around you, this number is what being extremely high on dopamine feels like. It's flowy, subtle, and full of nuance; it says a lot without saying a single word.

Third on the list is “Every Single Part Of It” By Ava Fyre, an EDM track, released on 17 Apr 26. Based out of Australia, Sydney

An experimental EDM beatscape that sounds super sci-fi inspired and funky, this is every disco's dream come true!

Next stop is Blue Panda's 'Bargain for a little more light', released on 22nd April 2026, from Stockholm, Sweden.

An adventurous and quite inspiring moment of bass-driven alt-rock that feels surreal, 'Bargain for a little more light' throws light on the feeling of embarking on an unconventional path, but choosing it no matter what the noise of the crowd is, and not having a single sigh about it.

Fourth on the list is “PSYCHE” By I.K.P., a HIP-HOP track released on 13 Feb 26, based out of the United States, Brooklyn

A groovy bass driven miracle that morphs into a classic rock moment of disintegration, this is liberating.

As the last tune of this wrap-up, we have a debut, COLORS by SI-KEY, which originates from Telford, England and will be released on 9th June,2026.

For this track, I give this cover art and a lot of food for thought. What could this track be about? How will it sound? What genre? Because for this one, we have got some serious anticipation and excitement building up, especially now that we see the ensemble of rainbows in different hues.

Last but not least is “The Trouble Being Human” By Bill Barlow, a CLASSIC ROCK track that was released on 17 Apr 26, based out of Tampa, United States

Coy, fun and dreamy, this feels like a revival of the lost creativity in the world.

Ranging from Classic Rock to Dreamy Pop to brand new artists, one can absolutely start following as they grow. This surreal roundup review is full of tracks you wouldn't be able to skip! It's got a lot of surprise elements to it that add a lot of serendipity to your taste profile, and we've deliberately crafted this roundup keeping that in mind.
