The young artist from London, England, has released an EP that will touch your emotions to the core. Evan de Roeper’s teenage years have been full of turmoil, and he has tried to share a piece of that, carefully wrapped into these six songs. Released just after his 27th birthday, this EP is deeply personal to him. Evan has penned every single verse with pure emotions, deep attachment and honesty, as he pours his soul into rhythm and melody in these songs. Although the songs were written in 2020-2021, they were carefully placed in Evan’s personal diary—until now, when he decided to share it with the world. When you listen to the songs, you feel the pain in his voice, that slows you down to absorb the hush of midnight thoughts and bedroom walls.

“May: 21-26” captures the loneliness of adolescence and fills the silence with delicate notes of music.

Every single song tells a story in itself, with spellbinding production and dreamlike storytelling. Evan has incorporated foley sounds into the production, with each track carrying a subtle texture that makes this collection unique. “Howl” acts as a calm amidst the chaos for the writer when he was struggling back in the days and “Haste” reflects a younger version of the artist trying to navigate his identity. “King” is a reflective track where he questions his past self, wondering if he still feels like a king, even in the moments of doubt. “Ground Zero” looks back in time to mirror the younger personality he once was. “Sayonara” goes a level deeper, capturing the beauty within, asking listeners to interpret its meaning in their own way. He has kept the terminating track “Dual,” vulnerable and slow, a time for everyone to pause and reflect what they witnessed in this twisted yet beautiful journey of “May: 21-26.” The emotive journey of Evan can be witnessed in a soulful and subtle way through this six-song EP for the listeners who care about personal stories told through music.
